It seems like the weeks go by faster and faster as the school year goes on! It's already the end of September and we're winding up for October and all its trip-to-the-ark-halloween-trunk-or-treat-fall fun!
The Mini-Economy all the students are involved in is in full swing. Students have been doing their jobs, finding odd jobs around the church and school to do, and starting their own businesses! It's been exciting to see many of their entrepreneurial sides come through. It's also been really good to see all the kids work so hard at helping others out. I know all the teachers, aids, and staff here in the building have loved having students offer to help with tasks that we do everyday. It's wonderful for our students to get a taste of what it will be like once they get out into the "real" world. I pray it's been a wonderful experience for your student! There are lots of things coming up this weekend and in the weeks ahead:
In regards to All Saints' Fest, please see the note below from the ASF committee. Have a blessed weekend! Did you know that babysitting is available the evening of All Saints’ Fest on November 2nd? It’s only $15 per child and available at school from 5:15 to 11 P.M.. Remember you can purchase tickets for this evening beginning Sept.15th at $40 per person. Or you can pick up a ticket form, fill it out, and turn it into the office with your payment. Incidentally, the first 100 people purchasing tickets will get a coupon for a free glass of wine the night of the event. Donations for auction are accepted at any time. It was another busy week for the 8th grade! About half the class shadowed at Covenant one day and another day we all went to Lutheran High School for another shadow day. The students are already thinking ahead to their time in high school, which is good to see!
There are lots of things coming up, so here are some reminders:

I was another great week in 8th grade! Today during Choice class time, the students all helped with different service projects around the church and school. Some of them did helpful things in classrooms, like cutting out papers for kindergarten. Others helped out on the church side of things by cleaning the chairs in the sanctuary. And others did jobs that no one wants to do, but needs to be done, like cleaning up all the big trash and recycling bins. Whatever your child did, it was appreciated! Some Reminders about upcoming events:

It was a short week, but packed full! I hope you all enjoyed your extra day this weekend. I know the the 8th graders did, they came back with smiles and stories! This Friday was Special Person's Day. All the student's enjoyed sharing their school life with some of their important people! During our time together the students and their special people played a game to help them learn some more about each other and they also completed a STEM activity that pointed back to this years theme verse in Psalm 46. Overall, it was a wonderful day! Reminders:
