We had a fun week with lots of "busyness" packed into four days instead of five. Highlights:

We have had a busy week filled with visits from our accreditation team, planning our opinion essays, continuing our study of the colonies, valentines fun, and learning more about Jesus. A few things to keep in mind for the upcoming weeks:

We have had a terrific week. Highlights include: - Learning about pomegranates (see the pictures above) -Practicing for our All School Christmas Program -Finishing our Hatchet Novel -Writing a comparison/contrast essay about Hanukkah and Christmas -Sharing our Explorer Trade Cards in Social Studies class -Celebrating Lucy's birthday (which is on Sunday) Please remember that last week we sent home your child's "Secret Angel". We will be having a Christmas party a week from today, and that gift needs to be here by Thursday. Also, refer to the back side of that paper to see what your child volunteered to bring for our class taco lunch. The All School Christmas Program is this Monday at 6:30. We have been practicing, and it is going to be a beautiful Christmas witness:) Please Have your child dress in church attire and arrive in the gym by 6:15. Friday, December 20 is a late start. We will not be switching classes that day. We will be having our Christmas party and movie. Tonight is the PTL Christmas movie night. Plan to join us at 6:30 for Elf or The Grinch. I hope you have had a relaxing weekend. Maybe you raked up the last of the leaves (that happened at my house), or enjoyed a trip to Bethlehem at Bethesda Church, or did some Christmas shopping. It's a busy seasosn with something for everyone to enjoy. And, of course, we remember that we are in the season of Advent and awaiting the birth of our precious Saviour, Jesus:) Please be sure to go through your Friday packet. There is an invitation to PTL movie night this Friday. Also, $I.00 Candy Candy Grams being offered by the 6th grade class. We have voted on our class party for Christmas for December 20th. We will be having a taco bar, and lots of other goodies. The kids also chose a Secret Angel. There is a list of snacks, and the directions for secret angel in your packet. Please let me know if you have any questions. The kids are really excited!!!!!! Our All School Christmas Program will take place on December 16th at 6:30. The theme is "Savior of the Nations Come". Each class will sing a song from a different country. Some are even singing in a different language. Please plan to attend and see our student. Hope you all had a good week. We have been busy, as usual. -There will be NO SPELLING OR MEMORY work next week, since we only have two days. -Please check with your child that their state folder is COMPLETE and ready to be turned in on Monday. I will be grading the WEST REGION and both U.S. maps in the front of the folder. We took our final capital quiz this afternoon!!!! They will be graded over the weekend. Thank you to Savannah for delicious capital cookies. This was a really fun time:) This TUESDAY is our MIDDLE SCHOOL THANKSGIVING LUNCH! If your child is a member of Student Council, they have signed up to donate something. Please check in with them on this. A few others also volunteered to bring dessert. Thank you in advance:) Packet treat on Monday will be popsicles and ice cream treats, since we have some left from a Spelling Treat.
