This was a full week! Complete with a severe weather drill, a late start, and 6th graders leading morning announcements. Today we started our new choice session, Outdoor Games. The options this session are biking, golf, frisbee golf, walking, and recess games. The kids seemed to enjoy the extra time outside and everyone came in nice and sweaty! We will finish up reading Amelia Lost next week. Students will write some newspaper articles in amongst some other culminating activities. We took a math test early this week. Overall, the students showed improvement from the start of the chapter but the grades were not as great as I desire to show mastery. Students will have the ability to correct their test (tests go home Monday) and we will continue to work as a class on the low areas. If you have specific concerns about your child's test, please feel free to email me. Things to note... 1. Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday. Please sign up if you have not reserved a time. If there are no times that work with your schedule, please contact me to arrange another time. 2. Please take a few minutes to complete the parent survey prior to our conference. I had the students complete this form today too. It will be interesting to see how your answers compare! 3. Outdoor Education Information Packets went home today. All colored pages need to be filled out and returned. Don't forget about the Outdoor Education Meeting on Thursday, September 26th at 5:00pm in our classroom. 4. Today is midterm.
