News and Notes for 2/2/20
1. Thursday is the big night! Students need to report to the classroom by 6:10 pm for costumes. The evening will begin at 6:30 pm in the gym. There will be 3 performances, 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7/8th. It is expected to be no more than an hour from start to finish. Below is what students should wear in addition to their costumes: Narrators, Damon, Pythias, Voices, Mother: White long sleeve shirt or tank tops, any kind pants are fine, sandals if available. Guards and Robbers: Black colored long sleeve shirts and pants, sandals if available. Please email me with any questions. I know the students are looking forward to this performance and have been working hard learning lines and stage directions. 2. Friday is a late start. The school day will begin at 9:25 am. 3. The class has been working to earn points toward a common goal by being on time and ready for school, completing all homework assignments, packing up and cleaning up on time for dismissal, and keeping lockers and cubbies clean. Encourage your child to contribute to the class goal by being ready for each school day. 4. We raised $1500 during the Penny War competition during Lutheran School's Week. Praise be to God! $750 will be donated to Sheltering Wings in Danville and $750 will be spent on new playground equipment and storage. 5. We need to finish up our Chicago funding in the next month. I am in need of a few parents who can help sell travel mugs from the narthex before school in the upcoming weeks. We will also sell Rice Krispie treats around Valentines' Day as our final fundraiser.
