The sixth graders are doing a great job getting acquainted with the schedule and work load. We had a great week learning about Helen Keller, her struggles, and how God works through the good of all things. Many students had some "lightbulb" moments when they realized that what are seen in struggles in their own lives are quite small when compared to the struggles of others.
Many subject areas have weekly assignments given out on Monday that are due later in the week. Morning time and class time are given throughout the week to work on these assignments but not all students will finish in the time aloted. Please check with your child be to be sure these assignments are completed each week. Listed below is an outline of the weekly assignments:
Notes about next week...
This week was filled with a few first: memory work, spelling test, library time, and choice class. This session of choice class is Creative Writing. Ask you child about their specific choice class. Thanks to Mrs. Keefer for volunteering to be our library aide!
This morning we had donuts (my treat). If you prefer your child not to have special treats or you would like to know ahead of time, please let me know. Notes about this week and next: 1. Flyers about various coming events went home today. They include: Special Person's Day, Robotics, the magazine sale flyers, and a field trip permission slip for the Zoo. 2. Please sign and return the Zoo permission slip by Friday. If you have a family Zoo membership please consider driving on this field trip. 3. Friday is our first 1- hour delayed start. Extended Care is open for families who need morning care. Please see RAM News for morning information and the link for signing up for Extended Care. 4. Each Wednesday you will receive an email update containing your child's current grades for each subject. Please take time and review the grades and ask questions when necessary. FYI: No one has a "F" in weekly spiritual life! That was my error. 5. Don't forget to start looking for a favorite family recipe for our All Saint's Fest project. Recipes are due in a few week. 6. Special Person's Day is Friday, September 7th. See RAM News for a sign-up link. Enjoy the weekend! Happy First Week!
